This year bold jewelry styles are still in fashion. Go for natural look with floral and nature inspired designs. Natural, warm colors (like amber) are perfect for spring season. Don’t be afraid to experiment, mix colors, patterns and textures.

Louis Vuitton has released new ads with Madonna, who is the new face of the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2009. 50 years old star looks really good, sexy and glamorous in all photographs shot by Steven Meisel.

Marc Jacobs who chose Madonna for the campaign said he was inspired by her Sticky & Sweet Tour performance in France. “I was totally just blown away by it, and moved by her performance, by what she had to say, and her energy,” said Jacobs.

This year many young celebrities and stars are hosting (for a “small” fee) New Year’s Eve celebrations and parties from LA to Miami.

Couple of weeks ago a discovery of deposits of very rare blue amber in Cantabria region in Spain was reported. The scientists estimate that deposits were originated 110 million years ago years which explains unusual blue-purple color and large size of deposits. The layers of amber extend up to 25 meters and measure 2 meters in width and 1.5 meters of depth.

First tests of amber revealed many botanical inclusions which will help tremendously to determine which tree species were the source of resin. Deposits of amber also contain insect inclusions including mosquitoes, flies and wasps. Scientists describe amber as “rich in insects”.

Discovered amber features beautiful blue color with accents of purple. It is extremely rare form of amber. Similar deposits were only discovered in Dominican Republic; however genealogist Rafael Lozano describes color of newly discovered amber as “much more intense”.

It is the most important amber discovery to date in Spain and possibly in all of Europe. There are only few other amber finds from that era in the world, so the magnitude of this find is huge, as it allow scientists to learn more about that early point in life on Earth’s history.
