Media reported last week that Orlando Bloom is the latest celebrity victim of jewelry thieves. In May, Lindsay Lohan’s home was burglarized and last December thieves stole $2 million worth of jewelry from Paris Hilton’s home. Hayden Panettiere known for playing Claire Bennet on the NBC television series Heroes was also a victim of home burglary and lost $15,000 worth of jewelry and some personal items.
This time the thieves got away with $500,000 of Bloom’s jewelry, some cash and artwork. Officers were called to the Pirates of the Caribbean star's home in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening, after one of the actor's relatives found the home had been broken into, police spokeswoman Tenesha Dobine said. Dobine declined to provide further comment and right now the police is looking for the robbers.
