If there is one thing that any women want when wearing an outfit, it's to hide those fats and show good curves. Of all the outfits that I have seen so far, one of the best in doing this is the bandage dress. And with a lot of celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox and Melanie B. successfully wearing it and looking really good, it makes me wonder if ordinary women can succeed in wearing this dress and pull it off.
First off, the bandage dress gained popularity in the 1980's by designer Herve Leger. It was made up of layers if elastic fibers and woven around like a bandage, thus the name. It was said to give wonders in hiding the bulges, lifting the bust straightening the back, thus giving a woman’s body the hour-glass shape and showing off curves, making her look sexy.
This is obviously the latest and hottest trend, especially when Max Azria relaunched the Herve Leger bandage dress and a lot---and I mean A LOT---of Hollywood actresses have been wearing it since then. But can ordinary women pull off wearing this dress?
As with any trend, there are disadvantages in wearing the bandage dress. For one, you have to squeeze yourself to wear it, as it is very tight. That is why most are custom made to their bodies because it is said to be hard to get one’s size from off-the-rack. Well, I don’t know with others, but I think this is much better because at least it’s really fit specifically for your body only. Second, once you wear it, it is difficulty to move about and walk, as it is tight (come on, the fact that is lifts up the bust shows that it is really tight).
Now back to the question: can ordinary women pull off wearing this dress? I think we can. I, for a fact, admit that I want to but my own bandage dress and wear it on a special occasion. I’m looking forward to that. It actually depends on each woman if they have the confidence to pull this kind of dress and not care what people say. I think it is the key that can make her pull off wearing this dress.
