White House Correspondents' Dinner Party is an event which the powerful and rich attend every year to eat, drink and chat about saving the world.
This year’s party was organized by Vanity Fair and Bloomberg and was held in the lavish residence of French ambassador in Washington.
The list of guests included the most powerful names in politics, business and entertainment business like e.g. Rupert Murdoch (News Corporation founder), Eric Schmidt (Google CEO), Ben Bernanke (Fed chairman), Scarlett Johansson, Patricia Arquette, Jessica Simpson's, Kim Kardashian, Cynthia Nixon and many many more.
But the most important couple was of course Barack and Michelle Obama.
The first lady looked very elegant in red jersey gown designed by Prabal Gurung accessorized with two large cuff bracelets. One bracelet featured 10 carats of raspberry tourmaline and rose-cut diamonds. The second bracelet worth about $17 000 was designed by Bochic and consisted of white bakelite, gold filigree and rose-cut diamonds.
Bracelets and earrings were a strong trend this evening when it comes to jewelry. Katie Couric sported a pair of stunning statement earrings, Kim Kardashian adorned her wrist with black and white diamond bangles and Cynthia Nixon chose simple metallic cuff. Patricia Arquette accessorized her gown with yellow gold bib necklace and Ashley Judd chose big flower hair accessory over jewelry.
