Depsite the disappointment and bad reviews of the movie “the Last Airbender”, Nickelodeon is giving good news to fans of the Avatar cartoon series: the “Last Airbender” sequel is set for 2011.
Avatar fans no need to be sad over the end of the the 3-seasoned “Last Airbender” because this time there will be a sequel, which is on the works. The new animated series will premiere with the working title “The Legend of Korra”.
The series will be more on the “mythology” of the original “The Last Airbender” series, where it will focus on a teenage girl avatar, Korra. Nickelodeon executive Brown Johnson describes her as hot-headed, independent and “ready to take on the world”. “The Legend of Korra” will also have the creator-producers as that of “The Last Airbender”, so fans will get to know more about the avatar and its origins.
I do hope this series will be good and will make up with the disappointment fans had after watching the “The Last Airbender” movie. I know I did. Still, I’ll be looking forward to this series.
