First Simon, Now Ellen!

After sitting for just one season as a judge in the reality singing contest, host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres is leaving “American Idol” and won’t be returning for Season 10. The reason? It just “didn’t feel like the right fit to me”.

According to DeGeneres in an interview with Access Hollywood, “It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings."

But despite her leaving, she is thankful for the experience. She says that she loved her short sting in “Idol” and is very grateful for it, and concluded that she will still be a huge fan of the show.

This will come a surprise for one person, which is fellow judge Randy Jackson, as he had said in an interview that he expects to see Ellen in the auditions rounds for Season 10. Obviously, Jackson will still be a judge and, another fellow judge, Kara Dioguardi, told Access Hollywood that she is ready to take on Season 10.

Hmmm…I don’t know. It already didn’t feel right when Paula Abdul disappeared, then Simon Cowell won’t be coming back this season. Now Ellen will be gone too. I’m sure “American Idol” is having a hard time now, and looking for a replacement for Simon Cowell is difficult enough. I do hope they do well in this…good luck AI!
