Emma Watson has proven to be one of the stylish celebrities in Hollywood as she won the Style Icon Award in the Elle Style Awards 2011.Legendary fashion designer Vivienne Westwood presented the award to her, which is a great honor. There’s just one thing though: Westwood didn’t know who Emma Watson was before she presented the award.
I know most of you would react “What? How could you not know Emma Watson?” According to Westwood in a little speech before giving the award, she was given a text about “how amazing she is, and that she would like you to present it to her if she wins.'"
Westwood asked “'Who is Emma Watson?' I never watch television, I don't read fashion magazines." She was told that Watson is from Harry Potter and she answered “I’ve never seen Harry Potter. I didn't know he had this girl friend called Hermione, and I said, 'Oh ... she's lovely.' So I must have absorbed something of her.”
And with that Westwood was very proud of giving the award to Emma Watson, who took her speech in good spirits even if the fashion designer has just met her. She was even seen laughing at some points of Westwood’s speech. Of course, with all Watson’s loveliness and grace that night, she graciously accepted the award.
It’s good that Watson took that speech lightly and was not even upset about it. I guess she accepted already that not all people still know her well. At least she still kept her feet on the ground.
