One of the most iconic roles in Superman history has finally been cast for its reboot that will star Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, after many months of speculation.

Academy Award Nominee Amy Adams is the new Lois Lane, a journalist and Superman/Clark Kent's love interest. Aside from Cavill, Adams will be starring alongside Diane Lane and Kevin Costner in this reboot by Warner Bros. And Legendary Pictures.

According to its director Zack Snyder, they conducted a big search for the iconic role because it was a very important onw. “We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.” The director called Adams from Paris to let her know she landed the role.

So far, there is no comment from the side of Adams but I'm sure she's delighted for her new project. Who wouldn't? She IS playing Lois Lane after all. For the villains though, there is still no news as to who will be playing the trio of Zod, Ursa and Non, who were once seen battling Superman in “Superman II”.

Well, congratulations Amy Adams! I think you deserve it as you're perfect for the role. We hope to hear more news from Superman in the next months since the reboot will be released on December next year.
