While we already know that Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are the top stars of “The Hunger Games” film, Lionsgate has announced its newest star to join them.

Elizabeth Banks has been cast as Effie Trinket, the pink-haired and poised chaperone for the 12th District. She is one of the important people where she teaches the 12th District tributes on presentation and style. Effie will be there to help Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark start their journey as district tributes to the 75th Hunger Games. It's said that even though she doesn't like her job, what more to be part of the 12th District, it turns out she becomes fond of Katniss and Peeta as the story develops.

37-year-old Banks is known for her roles in “The Uninvited”, “Spider-Man”, “30 Rock”, and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”. There were already talks about her getting the role of Effie, but now it's confirmed that she's part of “The Hunger Games” family. As Effie is known to have an obsession in punctuality and etiquette, Lionsgate thinks Banks is perfect for the role. Now, Hunger Games fans are looking forward for Banks to done that pink wig.

While most people are rooting for Kristen Chenoweth to play Effie, I think Banks is also perfect for the role. And just like other fans, I can't wait to see her done that pink wig that personifies who Effie is really like as a person: prim, poised and mindful of manners.

Congratulations Elizabeth!
