All the major roles for the movie version of “The Hunger Games” is now complete! And it was a great a finish because Lionsgate has just cast veteran actor Donald Sutherland as the villain, President Snow.
According to their official press release, Lionsagate and the “The Hunger Games” filmmakers are pleased to announced the casting of Sutherland as President Snow, who is the dictator and autocratic ruler of Panem and its districts for 25 years. He is known as “cruel and ruthless in his intimidation and control tactics” and having a snake-like appearance with a breath that smells of blood.
Fans of “The Hunger Games” have been waiting for this casting news because, while President's Snow role is small in the first book, he is very important to the entire plot of the series and has a big presence in “Catching Fire” and “Mockingjay”. He is also one of the reasons why the heroine, Katniss Everdeen, is fighting against the Capitol.
Sutherland is known for his roles in M*A*S*H, Ordinary People , Klute and Kelly’s Heroes, will next be seen in this summer’s comedy, Horrible Bosses and recently starred in The Mechanic with Jason Statham and Ben Foster, The Eagle with Channing Tatum and the highly-successful long form adaptation of Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth.

Of all the casting news the past months for the movie, Donald Sutherland as President Snow is the most well received and I'm not surprised. Even I'm very happy for it because he's very perfect for the evil President Snow and I am looking forward for the movie now. I hope “The Hunger Games” will be great!
