Britney Spears opened her latest tour in Los Angeles to an enormous audience and a huge stage. The seemingly lip-synced concert was a sold-out success. Spears pulled out all the stops for a highly entertaining thrill ride that consisted of risky acrobatics, sensual dancing, and the use of nostalgia to gain audience approval. Opening act Nicki Minaj rose up on to the stage with a rendition of their hit ‘Hold It Against Me’, while Britney sang a number of songs from her latest album, ‘Femme Fatale’, including her latest single ‘I Wanna Go’. Perhaps the highlight of the concert was Britney’s revisiting of all her old hits like ‘..Baby One More Time’, ‘I’m a Slave 4 U’ and ‘Boys’. The scantily clad dancers, use of old (now legendary) choreography, and sound and light effects only added to the positives. Surprisingly, the entertainer also sang a ballad that was seemingly live. The song ‘Don’t Let Me Be the Last to Know’ is one of her more recent numbers. Britney seemed to be in excellent form, interacting and playing with the audience and strutting her stuff in risqué and colorful costumes. The next stop for her tour will be in Glendale, Arizona followed by a return to Southern California.
