Maria Shriver was among the rest of the world when startling revelations of her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger’s infidelity came out to the public. The fact that he had kept a love child secret for fourteen years sent waves of scandal across Hollywood, America and the world. No one would have guessed that he had fathered a child with household staffer Mildred Patti Baena. The couple, who has been married for 25 years and produced four children, separated this May after the allegations arose. Arnold, who is an action superstar and the former Governor of California prepared a statement after rumors arose saying, “"After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago. I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family." Maria Shriver also released a statement at the time saying that "As a mother, my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."
