Kim Kardashian is having a big year. The reality star and entrepreneur broke up with her boyfriend, football player Reggie Bush, began dating basketball star Kris Humphries and is now engaged to them. The two are busy planning their wedding in front of all the world to see- on Kim’s reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Kim is now also involved in a lawsuit scandal. The reality star is apparently suing fashion brand Old Navy for using her look-alike in the advertisements. The ads, which became a Youtube phenomenon, star an aspiring actress named Melissa Molinaro, who looks a lot like Kim Kardashian. Melissa has also begun dating Kim’s ex-boyfriend, Reggie Bush. Maybe this is the cause of all the new hostility? Of course, Old Navy in no way claimed that they were trying to use Kim’s image, nor did they imply that Melissa was supposed to resemble her in any way- other than the fact that Melissa does look a lot like Kim. However, Kim’s rep says that all Kim is trying to do is protect her image and her brand, a brand that she has spent a number of years building up. Melissa or Old Navy have not commented on this latest build-up so far.
