Tragedy has definitely struck the music world this week, as Amy Winehouse died of a suspected overdose in her home at the young age of 27. The critically-acclaimed singer and talented musician was found dead in her house in the middle of the day by the Metropolitan Police. The singer was in the middle of a lot of drama revolving around the current state of her career. No word on whether the death was a suicide or an accidental overdose. Amy Winehouse performed less than a few weeks ago at Belgrade, in what was decidedly one of her worse performances. Critically ravaged and left in tatters, her career went downhill after she debuted with her prodigious first album a few years ago, entering everyone’s houses with her catchy tunes. There has certainly been a large amount of drama in Amy’s life- including her divorce from her drug abusing former husband, her drug related problems and several stints in and out of rehab. She was known as much for her personal problems as she was for her music. In 2008, she won nearly all of the Grammy Awards for her highly-acclaimed album ‘Back to Black’. She never released an album after that, but recently went on abruptly ending tour.
