Rhys Ifans, the actor who plays the villain in “The Amazing Spiderman” was arrested recently at the Comic Con for allegedly shoving a woman physically. He has been cited for a misdemeanor battery for pushing a security guard. He was also under the influence of alcohol. Media reports make us wonder whether his actions were just under the influence of alcohol, or if it was unfortunate misogyny. The actor, who is known for his roles in movies such as “Notting Hill” alongside Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, “Enduring Love” and his role as Xenophilius Lovegood in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1”. He has been seen in public as the once-boyfriend of Sienna Miller, but is otherwise extremely private especially when it comes to his social life. This time, he was not as successful. The actor made an unfortunately received appearance at the Comic Con to promote his new movie that also stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. He became drunk enough to spout anti-American sentences that offended many who were present around him. Rhys Ifans will probably be let go off on a minor misdemeanor charge, but he has definitely alienated himself from a number of fans. This is sad news, but it hopefully won’t affect the movie he is promoting in any way.
