Next year is the year of new gadgets, with portable computers as one of the top ones. Portabke computers will never disappears because people need something that they can bring so they can do their work and other perosnal things anywhere. While big companies are coming out of various portable computers, a not-so-big company will not be left behind as it comes out with not one, but two powerful portable computer called the Samsung Series 5 Ultra.

The first on the list is the 14-inch Ultrabook that is considered the world’s first ultrabook consisting of an optical disk drive. It weighs at 1.8kg, has a thickness of 20.9mm and is covered in aluminum casing. For the internal specs, it has 1 TB of hard disk drive, SSD, HDMI and Ethernet ports. For the processor, you have the option of getting a radeon HD 7440M GPU. This is priced at $1,345.00.

The second on the Samsung Series 5 Ultra is the 13-inch model that weighs at 1.4kg amd has a thickness of 14.9mm. Unlike the 14-inch model though, it doesn’t have a an optical disk drive and the option of Radeon HD 7550M GPU. But it will have a 500 GB hard disk storage that can be upgraded up to 1 TB and also comes with HDMI and Ethernet ports. It will be priced at $1,300.

Both the 13 and 14-inch models will have its Korean release by late December, while there is still no announcement on their international release yet. But if you’re interested in these two Ultrabooks, you have to go to the CES 2012 in January where it is rumored to be revealed for the US consumers.
